8/28/2023 0 Comments Gatlinburg tn attractionsWe sat at a small booth and we waited, she walked over and says what do you want. It was 10:37 I believe and the cook yelled at the older lady seating them No I am not cooking breakfast, they ordered BLT and burgers and asked if maybe they had a biscuit or two they could maybe get with some gravy as the had come from Ohio and this place was on their to eat at. ![]() They asked if breakfast was still being served. They were greeted and sat down with a but we are full. While iam not a native Tennessian, I have lived here 5 years. We entered the store/restaurant with zero customers but a small group of 4(2 older couples) entered before us. So this has been a first for me so bare with me as never in my life have I experienced a place that really hated having customers. I loved it!! I spotted some on the trail and when I was leaving the park in the park by one of the trails. A group of them cross the street in front of my car. When I was leaving the park, I encountered more deer. One of them looked so happy when she was hiking. I bet the Fall Foliage is beautiful! My 2 little girls enjoyed their 2.2 mile hike on the overlook trail. If I'm in the area again, I would love to hike this trail in the Spring and Fall. I also drove to the end of the road where the overlook is without having to hike the trail. It's nice to experience the change from brown to green as I hike the trail. Toward the end of the trail, about 2 mile mark, the scenery changed to more green then just brown with leaves on the green. I love the view of the Cherokee Reservoir. This might explain why the 3 solo hikers I crossed path with took the trail on the right instead of left. I took the trail on the left and it required some uphill climbing but when I got to the other side of the trail, going down hill was a bit steep and walking on big rocks can be a bit slippery and dangerous. If you have stability issues, I recommend going with someone to provide you with stability, use a hiking stick, and take the trail starting on the right. Some part of the trail is a little narrow, but still safe. The trail is very well marked whuch is helpful since the trail was covered with leaves. The overlook trail involves climbing up and then down the mountains. I go every year just for the donuts □ So worth the wait! Come on over and enjoy some cider and a donut. The kids were plentiful and playful as I walked through the area. I suggest to go early morning or late evening. To purchase food items the line was long and I waited 40 minutes. The ticket line is out side and I waited about 15 minutes. Only cash is accepted here with a ATM just inside the business. In the fall this place is so busy and we'll maintained inside and outside. They sell, apples, cider, pumpkins, carmel apples, plain and sugar donuts made fresh, apple bread, toffee, honey, honey combs, popcorn kernels and the best part is kettle corn! Many activities for kids that include hay rides, a corn maze, a petting zoo, sunflower garden, live bees, paintball and a climbing hay area. ![]() U-pick apples with many varieties, yellow and red raspberries and of course pumpkins. ![]() I just adore this place and all the options they provide. I've been a yearly visitor here for years at Erwin Orchards and cider Mill.
